CWO I: 3-day sailing-course ‘Crew'
This is for if you have none or little experience in sailing. This course will allow you to reach the level of full-fledged crewmember in three days of training. You will learn to ready the ship, to hoist and lower the sails, wind-orientation, sailing on course, positioning and controlling the sails, to luff more up wind and to bear away, to jibe, to work windward, to make a riff, to land the ship, controlling the engine and you will make a beginning with planning sailing-trips and navigation.
CWO II: 3-day sailing-course ‘Skipper'
This is for if you do have knowledge and experience as a crewmember on cabin-yachts (level CWO I). The goal of the CWO II course is to learn how to independently and under normal weather conditions sail safely on the larger interior waters. Next to the basics of the CWO I, you will work on: landing and leaving manoeuvres on both engine and sail, man-over-board situation, anchoring on open water, navigating in locks, navigation and navigational equipment. This is the level you need before you can rent a yacht yourself.
Remaining lessons
Next to following the CWO sailing-course, it's possible to follow a special course. If you for example booked a sailing-trip around the Mediterranean or the Caribbean, it can be advisable to follow some lessons in anchoring. It's also possible to get some lessons in motor-manoeuvring. This can be very handy if you rented a ship and would like to improve your skill a little.
